How Are Pageant Planet Directory Rankings Calculated?

Pageant Planet’s Directory helps contestants and families discover pageants and pageant professionals throughout the industry.

To provide a more consistent ranking experience, Pageant Planet Directory results are ranked using three key factors: Icons, Best in Pageantry (BIP) Awards, and Reviews.

How Directory Rankings Are Calculated

Each profile’s directory ranking is calculated using the following weighted criteria:

Icons — 50%

Icons make up the largest portion of the directory ranking at 50%.

The total number of Icons associated with a profile has the greatest impact on where that profile may appear within directory search results.

Best in Pageantry (BIP) Awards — 35%

Best in Pageantry Awards account for 35% of the directory ranking.

The total number of BIP Awards associated with a profile contributes to its overall placement within the directory.

Reviews — 15%

Reviews account for the remaining 15% of the directory ranking.

The total number of reviews associated with a profile contributes to its directory placement.

Ranking Breakdown

The directory ranking formula is:

• 50% — Total Icons
• 35% — Total Best in Pageantry (BIP) Awards
• 15% — Total Reviews

Together, these three factors determine a profile’s ranking within Pageant Planet’s tiered directory structure.

What Does This Mean for My Profile?

Profiles with stronger performance across these three categories may appear higher within Pageant Planet Directory search results.

Because each category carries a different weight, Icons have the greatest impact on directory placement, followed by BIP Awards, and then Reviews.

For example, having more reviews alone does not necessarily mean a profile will rank above another profile. The ranking takes all three weighted criteria into consideration.
