We created Pageant Planet to help contestants connect with pageants and experts in the industry. We wanted to make it easy for you, the business owner, to get discovered on and off our platform. To help with this, here are some pointers to help you create a successful profile.
- Have at least a 300-word bio. A full bio will help you rank better on Google. Tell your story of how you got involved in pageantry and what sets you apart from your competition, or tell the contestant why they should hire you instead of your competitor.
- Link to all the contestants you have coached. This helps because if someone searches Google for "Steven Roddy's Pageant Coach," your profile will be more likely to show up. Your business will also appear on their profile when you tag a contestant.
- When entering your address and phone number on Pageant Planet, type it exactly as it appears on Google Maps. For example, if you use STE as Suite or St. instead of Street, keep it the same. Google Maps uses this as a trigger in ranking. For example, all things being equal, if Business A has 100 exact mentions of their address and phone number on the web and Business B has 99, then Business A will outrank Business B.
- Get reviews. The more reviews a business has on the web, the better your ranking on Google. Google wants to send people to businesses where they will receive the best experience. Reviews are how they gauge if a user will have a good experience. So all things being equal, if Business A has 100 reviews from other sites, like Pageant Planet and around the web, and Business B has 99, then Business A will outrank Business B.
